This series emerges from intuitive exploration in material and technique. Elias approaches wood as a malleable medium, transforming it through sculptural interventions, controlled burning, and layered lacquer applications. Occupying a space between sculpture and painting, the works take the form of monochromatic compositions marked by a distinct tactile intensity and refined detail. The wet looking tropical tones can be seen as a visual addition to Elias’ collection, creating scenery for his sculptural work.

Each piece is made entirely by hand, allowing subtle variations and imperfections to become part of its character.

Executed in modified and lacquered Oregon pine.
