Stahl + Band

The collection comprises bases crafted from Anjou limestone, sculpted from a single block by Frédéric Saulou and marked by the use of a «barley grain» tool in a sculptural approach that captures the vibration of the material through gesture and tool.

The tabletops are made of Rouergue glass paste, using precisely selected glass grains to achieve a unique mineral effect and a gradual color gradient between the different pieces in the collection.

Limestone is a sedimentary rock formed by accumulation, primarily on the seabed, but sometimes in lakes, from shells and the skeletons of microalgae and marine animals.

Their unique aesthetic, formed by natural sediments and veining, reveals the stone’s history and character. Like glass, which is made from seashells from the oceans, limestone and glass meet intimately and are bound together by the interplay of grain, gesture, and tool.
